Welcome to Tolkien's Class
On this page we will be sharing some of the fantastic things we do in class.
Pirouette
Tolkien Class preforming the French song Pirouette. A special thank you to Mrs Collins for graciously dedicating her time to teach and guide the children. Their enjoyment is evident as they performed the song with enthusiasm.
London Trip
Our Year 6 children had a wonderful time during our recent trip to London. Over the three days, the Tolkien Class experienced the Tower of London, site seeing our National Monuments, staring with awe and wonder at the displays on offer at the Natural History and Science Museums.
During the Saturday evening the children were mesmerised by the performance of The Lion King at the West End. On their way home our children visited Whipsnade Zoo and marvelled at all the variety of animals (though some choose to turn their backs on us and show their bottoms).
The children were a credit to the school - despite the adult's ears taking a beating on the way home with the children belting out Christmas songs on the bus!
French Melody
The Year 6 pupils delighted in the opportunity to explore a mesmerising French melody skillfully taught to them by Mrs Collins, a retired French teacher from UALS.
Science
This term, our focus in Science is on forces and mechanisms. In this week's lesson, we explored the life and work of Sir Isaac Newton. As part of the activity, children were asked to conduct research on Newton and generate a list of questions they would ask him if given the chance to interview him.
